Our client was out-growing their site power capability and wanted to expand by adding new machines and processes. The DNO (network operator) was called in, and a larger supply was quoted at £180,000.00.
The Challenge
Our client was looking to add additional workshops containing CNC and Machining Processes. The client already had a 1.6m VA supply. The site was operating at 0.57 power factor. The existing switchgear was 30 years old and failing, the main switch regularly tripping due to its failing state/age.
The Solution
Johnson & Phillips surveyed the site’s existing system and proposed the following upgrade: a new main switchboard, new power factor correction and additional transformer tails. All equipment is manufactured and assembled by Johnson & Phillips.
